80s Hits - Dire Straits
Dire Straits may not be a household name in today’s music scene, but rewind back to the year 1985, and you will notice that as 80s hits go, they hit the mother load. In that year, the band released “Brothers in Arms”, which was among the top sellers at that time.
More importantly, as far as hits go, the single “Money for Nothing” surged onto the music scene and hit number one on the charts in the US. It also went on to be the first MTV music video played in the United Kingdom. Mark Knopfler’s unique guitar stylings along with an incredible production helped to make this album a hit in the 80s, but also a classic for years to come.
